My youngest brother, Kyle, is graduating from Butler University next weekend. He was born with a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot. In 2013, he was rushed to the hospital in Indianapolis with ventricular tachycardia. Paramedics used an AED to save his life in the ambulance. This is the reason why we donate a percentage of our profits each month to the Wes Leonard Heart Team. The WLHT uses the funds they receive to purchase AED devices for schools. Kyle wrote an awesome story for his senior capstone about sudden cardiac arrest and athletes. It is a long read, but I encourage you to read it!
If you read Kyle’s personal story, you will read about Sue Ross, who died of a heart attack during Kyle’s open heart surgery. Sue was our first sales rep for Polka Dot Mitten. It’s hard to understand why things happen, but they do!
